In the 1950s, two hundred Reunionese families were sent to cultivate land in the Sakay region in Madagascar. They ran flourishing farms for 20 years but were expelled in 1975, following the Malagasy revolution.
The French authorities offered them to settle in French Guyana. 5 families chose to embark on this new life of pioneers, in spite of the climate and the size of the forest. In the settings of these breathtaking landscapes of French overseas, they tell us their epic, and their attachment to the land, whether Malagasy, French or Guyanese.
